Creation of a ERFP working group on "in-situ conservation" in Europe for cattle sheep, goat and pig. Exchange of knowledge, experiences, ideas. Collect various successful (or not) case studies . To better understand the factors affecting "in-situ" programmes . General Objectives.
Attempt to obtain a possible definition for "in-situ conservation" programmes. Possible problems encountered by zootechnical or veterinary legislation and/or market regulations. Cultural biodiversity and protection of origin : a way of thinking differently about farming. Possibilities to prepare a FP7 programme. Specific Objectives.
Collect maximum of case studies. Define the working-group . Working by e-mail (1 exchange/month) Synthesis during 3 workshops. Final document at Barcelona - ERFP workshop in 2009. Approach and methodology .
