PSD/CSD • PSD/CSD is a snapshot of district employee’s salary information on September 15th • Certified Rank Salary Tables, PSD and CSD files due to KDE by October 1, 2012 • Must submit salary table prior to submitting PSD file • Submission application will be open September 15 until the due date
PSD/CSD (cont.) • All documentation can be found on KDE website as referenced in the Sept/Oct newsletter • EPSB has a MUNIS certification reference chart showing requirements for specific summary codes at http://www.kyepsb.net/certification/LEAD.asp
PSD/CSD (cont.) • Remember there are two places for errors on the PSD and CSD • The first is when you generate the PSD or CSD records – you must print error report immediately • The second is when you submit the files to KDE
PSD/CSD (cont.) Common pitfalls • Putting non certified folks on PSD – position must require a teaching certificate • Making manual changes on 1 record and not on all records – KDE recommends making changes on job pay records and performing a “recalc” • Not having at least 40 years of salaries on the rank salary tables
PSD/CSD (cont.) Common pitfalls (cont.) • PSD file is generated with 187 contract days • If your district has another number of contract days you will need to run a utility to fix the days • http://education.ky.gov/KDE/Administrative+Resources/Finance+and+Funding/School+Finance/District+Personnel+Information/School+District+Personnel+Reporting.htm
PSD/CSD (cont.) Common pitfalls (cont.) • Retirees must have a group/bargaining unit of “RCER”, then salary is not checked against salary table • Knowing difference between annual and reference salary – reference is salary for full year in that position & annual is salary employee will be paid (same or less than reference)
PSD/CSD (cont.) Common pitfalls (cont.) • Knowing difference between allocations and FTE - allocations are used with same job class code with different locations or sources of funding (always equals 100 – split days) & FTE is used with different job class codes (equal 1.0 if full time – full contract days)
PSD/CSD (cont.) Common pitfalls (cont.) • Mid-year hire should be coded in job pay as a full year person, then adjusted in recurring pay for period and annual pay • KDE owns the summary codes – all job class codes must be linked to our summary codes • There are certain group/bargaining unit, summary code and object code combinations – see page 20 of the PSD Report (PR-STW-4) document
PSD/CSD (cont.) New for this year • Teacher job class codes cannot be at locations 000 or 001 – there are no students at these locations so there should be no teachers at central office or district-wide • All districts should have a kindergarten teacher coded as 2025 – note this year
PSD/CSD (cont.) • All districts get to verify superintendent’s salary in the notes • All superintendent base pay and extended days are to be coded to summary class code 0010 • All superintendent extra service is to be coded to summary class code 5220 • Changes to Resource Consultant
