Computer History Timeline • 1950Hideo Yamachito: The first electronic computer is created in Japan by Hideo Yamachito • 1955Bell Labs introduces its first transistor computer. • 1981Microsoft: MS-DOS Computer Operating System increases its success • 1984Apple Macintosh: Apple introduces the Macintosh with mouse and window interface. • 1986More than 30 million computers are in use in the United States • 1987Microsoft introduces Microsoft Work • 1991The World Wide Web: The World Wide Web is launched to the public on August 6, 1991 • 1994: YAHOO is created in April, 1994. • 2002Approximately 1 billion PCs been sold • 2006Skype announces that it has over 100 million registered users

  4. Fun Facts • Who inventeted the first pc? • Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobscreated the first pc for home use. • Who invented the first laptop? • The laptop was invented by Adam Osborne in 1981. It was called 'Osborne 1' and cost $1,795. It came bundled with $1,500 worth of programmes. It had a tiny computer screen built into it. It was invented by Osborne Computers. The first portable computer was a success, with sales reaching 10,000 units a month. IBM launched the IBM 5155 Portable Personal Computer in 1984. In 1988, Compaq Computer launched the first laptop PC with VGA graphics, Compaq SLT/286. In 1989, NEC released UltraLite, which was the first 'laptop' computer.   6. In the Future… • In the future I think that computer will get even more Hi-Tec then they already are. They will come out with a lot more ideas and styles. They will probably make computers a lot smaller and maybe everything will be touch screen.
