  2. Roderigo (Rod) • Roderigo is totally in love with Dedemona, he believes everything Iago says and consider him his best friend. • He doesn’t have any noble or good characteristics.

  3. Iago • He’s the villain of the play. • Married with Emilia. • He likes to create trouble. • He’s one who started all the conspiracy to ruin Othello.

  4. Brabantio • He’s Desdemona’s father. • And a senator in Venice. • He didn’t had anything against Othello, but since he knew that his daughter got married to him got angry and he doesn’t approve their marriage.

  5. Othello • He’s black and is called the “moor”. • He has served as a soldier in the Venetian Army all his life and he had become a General. • Recently married to Desdemona. • He’s a honest person, with good values.

  6. Cassio • Michael Cassio is a young, handsome soldier. • He’s loyal to Othello and friendly with Desdemona. • He got involved in a plot to convince Othello that Desdemona has cheated on him with cassio.

  7. Duke of Venice • He’s the authority in Venice. • Contrasting with the others he doesn’t seem to have any prejudice against Othello. • He shows great respect to Othello.

  8. Dedemona • Daughter of Brabantio. • He’s in love with Othello and they had recently married him, she’s very loyal to his husband, even in the moment of death, after Othello killed her because he believes she’s been cheating with cassio.

  9. Montano • He was the governor of Cyprus before Othello.

  10. Emilia • She’s Iago wife. • She’s Desdemona friend and servant. • she steal Desdemona’s handkerchief for Iago, but she doesn’t know about the complot and when she does Emilia reveals his husband duplicity. • At the end Iago kills her.
