  3. The Patriot act of 2001. • “Uniting and strengthening America by providing appropriate tools required to intercept and obstruct terrorism”. Passes in the wake of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001- a time of national unease and fear- the Patriot Act is passed by the Congress and became public law 107-56 on October 26, 2001. • Source: Congressional Digest, Nov 2004 (258).

  4. Facts About Patriot Act of 2001. • 1. Sep11, 2001: Two hijacked airliners deliberately crashed into the twin towers of the world trade center in NYC. • 2. Occurred on Americans soil. • 3. 2,998 civilians died in the attack. • 4. Fight terrorism.
