  2. Icons for publishing & Unpublishing New icons show an item’s visibility status

  3. With draft state on: When you create, it’s unpublished New pages, quizzes, discussions, assignments, modules are invisible until you publish

  10. An unpublished assignment By default, when you create- it’s unpublished

  11. A published assignment This can be “unpublished” again via the green button

  20. UNPublished items with no student work are not in Students’ grades / gradebook Unpublished = excluded from grade calculations

  21. Assignment Groups do show up in gradebook Unpublished items in an assignment group are excluded from grade calculations- column could be blank

  22. If students have done work, no unpublishing Warning messages if you try to unpublish

  23. Publishing settings transfer if you copy a course Invisible items stay invisible
