Personal discussion: In this paper we show a small involvment of spn-e on the transgene. It is very surprising because spn-e mutation cause severe derepression of TE. We can speculate that this is a complexity level of TE repression or we can also speculate that this could be an experimental problem (for example high stability of the protein). For vasa gene we made use a pvalium 20 rnai which is supposed to be more active in the somatic cell compare to germline cell, this could explain the faint release of silencing when the rnai is driven by nos>gal4. I think that this do not reflect a faint participation of vasa in TE silencing.
