  2. The Importance of Seedless Plants • Seedless plants are an important part of our ecosystem. When environments are damaged by extreme weather or fires, seedless plants grow in spite of these conditions and contribute to soil development for the growth of other plants.

  3. Plant Overview

  4. The major vessels that carry water, nutrients and other substances throughout the plant are called xylem and phloem. These structures only exist in vascular plants. These structures do not exists in nonvascular plants like moss.

  5. Distinctions Among Both • Most seedless nonvascular plants have long stems. These threadlike structures are called rhizoids. These specialized roots help anchor the plant. Most plants in this category grow in damp places. They don’t have flowers and reproduce via spores. • Vascular plants also reproduce via spores. The vessels in these plants have the advantage of being able to distribute nutrients throughout the plant. The most abundant type of seedless vascular plants is the fern. Modern day ferns can grow to up to 5 meters in height in tropical regions.
