  3. Definition of witchcraft • Witchcraft (witchery by spell craft) is the use of magical festivities, most commonly for religious, divinatory or medicinal purposes

Witchcraft by Regions • For example, In the Philippines the so called “witches” were known as sorcerers or practitioner of black magic are known as “Mangkukulam” In tagalog. • Also in Africa the term witch doctor means a healer who uses witchcraft. • In India more than 100 women are tortured because they were accused of being un-natural.

Fun facts • If you were accused and pleaded not guilty, you were hung • A lot of wealthy people were accused of witchcraft because when they were found guilty, all of their properties belonged to the state • In the salem witch trials of 1692, 19 people were killed, because they were accused of witchcraft
