  9. UCI’S Funding Boards As a Registered Campus Organization, you are eligible to apply for funding for programs and events. The Green Initiative Fund Student Programs Funding Board Multicultural Programs Committee Dean’s Fund

  11. Is UCI a sustainable campus?

  12. What is TGIF? • Established in 2009 from a Student Fee Referendum • Empower students with financial resources to effect sustainability on campus • $3.50 per quarter student fee • 1/3 goes back to financial aid • Total: $120,000 per academic year

  13. Project Requirements • That projects and events produce an outcome thatreducesthe University’s impact on the environment • Increasing Sustainability on Campus

What do we look for? • Does this project increase UCI’s Sustainability in some capacity? • Improved Technology • Clean Air Claire: Spray Paint Can Cleaner • Increased Education on Sustainability • The Eric Larsen Event • Improved Infrastructure • Introduction of AV Garden • Sustainable Services • Increased Recycling Bin

  15. What do we look for? • Are the projects that we approve something that UCI undergraduate students want? • Will they attend the event? • Will they use the infrastructure? • Will they learn something from it? • Will they use the sustainable services we are offering?

  16. Deadlines • WINTER QUARTER- • week 9 • SPRING QUARTER- • week 2 • week 5 Projects are due on Friday’s @ 5 PM of deadline weeks.

  18. Mpc SPFB Dean’s Fund • Maximum Allocation Amount: $200 • Programs must demonstrate a multicultural component • A representative from organization will be contacted for a meeting • Questions?   19. Deadlines • MPC & Dean’s Fund- • March 2, 2012 • April 6, 2012 • May 4, 2012 • SPFB- • Rolling deadline. *Applications must be submitted by 4PM on the application deadline.

  20. The Application

  21. Events must be open to the whole campus. Funding applications must be for events. Your event time should be different than your general meeting time. Events must be on campus. Food expenses cannot exceed 20% of funding allocated. No alcohol can be served at the event.

  22. If you’re making a room reservation with SC&ES, fill out a SCS form, & submit to ASUCI. Your fees will automatically be paid by ASUCI with your funding. In your application, be as detailed as possible. - fill out each line as it pertains to your organization’s event.

  23. How will your organization raise money? Show that your org is making an effort as well. Be thorough. This can include anticipated amounts as well. Ask for what you need. The totals of all the “amounts requested” should equal the “amount needed”
