Training Objectives • Introduction to Enforcement Technical Support functionality • End User Support • Search for Enforcement users • Temporarily assign Enforcement user roles themselves • Remove roles temporarily assigned to themselves • Managing L&I Account Requests • Accessing and Reviewing L&I Account Requests • Approving (Creating) and Denying L&I Account Requests • Accessing and Reviewing Enforcement User Account Details
Technical Support Enforcement User Support • Enforcement Technical Support users have access to search for existing Enforcement user accounts within the FMCSA Portal • Select Technical Support Role under the Technical Support menu on the home page to access the user support management functions
Technical Support Enforcement User Support (cont’d) • To search for an individual Enforcement user or a list of Enforcement users, enter a Search Criteria utilizing the Search for Users functionality • Enforcement Technical users can search for Enforcement users by entering a First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, User ID, Organization, Status and / or Role
Technical Support Enforcement User Support (cont.) • Select an Enforcement user from the Results List to display his/her account information for viewing and updating • Enforcement users access rights can be updated, data in the User Search Results fields cannot be modified by Enforcement Technical Support users
Technical Support Enforcement User Support (cont.) • The User Profile view displays general Enforcement user information in a read-only format • To view the Enforcement user’s User Profile • Click the magnifying glass located next to the Enforcement user’s name
Technical Support Enforcement User Support (cont.) • Additionally, Technical Support users have the ability to temporarily assign the Enforcement End user roles to themselves
Technical Support Enforcement User Support (cont’d) • To temporarily assign roles to yourself • Click the check box next to role you would like to temporarily assign • Or simply click the check box Select All Roles to temporarily assign all of the Enforcement user’s role to yourself • Click the Temporarily Assume Roles button • Your profile will be updated instantly with the user’s profile whose roles you temporarily assigned to yourself
Technical Support Enforcement User Support (cont.) • To remove roles temporarily assigned to yourself, select Unassume Roles under the Technical Support menu
Technical Support Enforcement User Support (cont’d) • Once on the Technical Support Access screen • Select the roles you would like to remove from yourself • Or simply click the check box Select All Roles, to remove all of the Enforcement user’s roles assigned to yourself • Click the Unassume Role(s) button • Your profile will be updated instantly with the user’s profile whose roles you temporarily assigned to yourself
Technical Support Enforcement User Support (cont.) • To Download the Enforcement user, User List into an Excel spreadsheet • Click the Download List button • To Print the Enforcement user, User List into an Excel spreadsheet • Click the Print List button
Introduction to L&I Account Administration • Enforcement Technical Support must manually intervene with account creation to FMCSA Licensing and Insurance (L&I) System • Enforcement Technical Support is responsible for coordinating with Headquarter staff in determining who should have access to L&I • Enforcement Technical Support can manage the status of L&I account requests • Enforcement Technical Support Approve (Create) or Deny all Enforcement L&I account requests
Viewing Pending L&I Account Requests • The Pending Account Requests portlet on the home page displays all Enforcement users who are awaiting approval for access to L&I • All Enforcement Technical Support personnel will have the Pending Account Requests portlet on their home page
Viewing Pending L&I Account Requests (continued) • Enforcement Technical Support may use the Technical Support / Manage L&I Access menu item to review and process the pending L&I account requests
Viewing Pending Account Request Details • The L&I account request details include the Enforcement user’s First Name, Last Name, User ID, Organization, Request Date, Request Type, Comment History and Status
Viewing Pending Account Request Details (cont’d) • Enforcement Technical Support may also view an Enforcement user’s profile from the Manage L&I Access screen • To view an Enforcement user’s profile • Click the magnifying glass next to the Enforcement user’s name
Updating Pending L&I Request • To update the status of a pending L&I account request • Select an Enforcement user in the Pending Account Requests list • Select a Status for the account request • Click the Update Status button to save the status change of the L&I account request
Review • Enforcement Technical Support users have the ability to search for all Enforcement users that have access to the FMCSA Portal • Enforcement Technical Support users have the capability to temporarily assign and remove roles to themselves to assist Enforcement Portal users • Enforcement Technical Support users receive email notification for each Enforcement user L&I account request • Enforcement Technical Support users have a Pending Account Requests portlet located on their home page, which displays Enforcement users who are awaiting approval for their request to access L&I • Enforcement Technical Support users can review L&I Account Request details prior to approving (creating) or denying a request • Enforcement Technical Support users has the capability of updating the status of pending L&I account requests
