A few words to describe DCPC so far? • The driver’s point of view • Positive impact on morale of drivers • Drivers switching polarity in the course of a session! • Sense of feeling more “valued” because of the training received. • Quieter, doubting drivers transformed into eager contributory pupils. • A sense of security and importance within the company • Shared learning, a feel good factor plus a badge to prove it! COSTLY What’s the point ? A day wasted • Company perspective • Observed improvement in behavioural skills • Awareness of costs….staff retention…you bet!

  4. Questions you could ask before spending your DCPC budget Your place or mine? Are you going to be long? Show us your credentials Does it do what it says on the tin? Who’s minding their knowledge gap!

  5. Finally “Directive 2003/59/EC on the initial qualification & periodic training of drivers of trucks or buses was adopted to ensure a common level of training for such drivers with a view to enhancing road safety”
