Unreliable Data EXAMPLE 1: Data supplied from Herts County Council unaudited summary accounts 2004/05 illustrates Herts Fire and Rescue attended approx. 17,000 incidents. Herts County Council confirmed that these details are from 2003/04 and the correct figure should be shown as approx. 13,000 incidents. Should we trust the facts and figures?
Unreliable Data EXAMPLE 2: Fire service records show a house fire in Bovingdon as Hemel Hempstead engine first on scene, when it was actually the Bovingdon crew that “made pumps 4” when they 1st arrived before the Hemel Hempstead tender. Should we trust the facts and figures?
Unreliable Data EXAMPLE 3: Roy Wilsher quoted a number of facts and figures on specific incidents in the Bovingdon area at the Parish Council Meeting and how Hemel Hempstead and surrounding stations met the ten minute attendance times. The times quoted were from the time the station was alerted NOT from the time of the 999 call. Should we trust the facts and figures?
Attendance Time = Time from 999 call Attendance times: The Mount and Dudley House > 10 minutes Attendance times: Bovingdon (Tower Hill) = approx. 9 minutes Kings Langley (Tower Hill) = approx. 11minutes Attendance times: Amersham (Birch Lane) = approx. 16 minutes Hemel Hempstead (Green Dragon) = approx. 14 minutes.
Future Developments No-one can predict the future, but other future developments will impact further the responsiveness of the local services • Working with the Ambulance service • Re-location of call centre • Local Knowledge • Further reduction in retained stations • Global warming • Increased Housing
