  1. Do’s and Dont’s -How to Prevent Troubles iConnect

  2. iConnect – Installation and Location • The location of the control panel is critical for the installation’s success. • The location in basement or concrete room is not recommended! • RF RSSI level (noises) should be as low as possible. • To take into consideration the RF signal straight of the wireless devices

  3. iConnect – Installation and Location 3 Do not locate the control panel close to Electro- magnetic sources (computers, fax machine, Electrical cabinet, Routers and etc).

  4. iConnect – Installation and Location 4 In case of electric power outage for few days, back up battery becomes totally empty. Rarely, the battery becomes totally empty. In order to wake the battery up, it’s required to insert and remove the battery connector a few times (10-15 times) to the main board.

  5. iConnect – Installation and Location 5 Fuse for AC power and fuse for battery can be damaged because of lightning. Those fuses can be easily replaced.

  6. The Wireless devices – Location and Installation  6 Minimum of one meter between devices or between device to the control panel.

  7. The Wireless devices – Location and Installation 7 Do not locate the Wireless devices close to Electro-magnetic sources (computers, fax machine, Electrical cabinet, Routers and etc).

  8. The Wireless devices – Location and Installation 8 Wireless devices Batteries Due to the occurrence of voltage delay in lithium batteries that have been in storage, the batteries may initially appear to be dead. In this case, leave the unit in Test mode for a few minutes OR press on the tamper switch a number of times until the battery voltage level is stabilized.

  9. The Wireless devices – Location and Installation 5th Week of 2011 9 Battery - Date of production is something that installer must pay attention to. Battery with a date of production which is more than 2 years isn’t recommended for installation.

  10. The Wireless devices – Location and Installation 10 The Signal strength level of the wireless device, must be with level 5 and above. When installing the detector on the wall, make sure that the screw isn’t sticking out.

  11. The Wireless devices – Location and Installation 11 If there is a suspicion of transmissions’ loss from the device OR supervisionloss event occurs in panel, radio test needs be performed. Every 8 seconds, signal will send to panel. Each signal will be heard by number of tones

  12. The Wireless devices – Location and Installation 12 Why can’t the Wireless device be registered in the control panel? The device had already been registered. The zone is defined as ‘Use Repeater’. The battery is empty. The battery is inverted. The back tamper of the device is opened. Noisy area (RF RSSI Level=9). The RF frequency is different (868/433MHz).

  13. Curtain detector – EL2650XL 13 Avoid placing the detector in an area exposed to sunlight coming in through the window. For night arming make sure that the user will keep a distance from the detector’s coverage:

  14. Curtain detector – EL2650XL    14 By quickly reaching out the hand into the coverage area and pulling it back, may cause a false alarm. Distance from the window/wall: at least 5cm:

  15. Magnetic Contact EL-2601 Wrong installation – Supervision loss may occur. Wrong installation – Supervision loss may occur. 15 The detector on the frame The magnetic on the window

  16. Magnetic Contact EL-2601 16 On massive steel frame, it is recommended to add a spacer to the detector .

  17. PIR Motion detector - EL2645/EL2745 17 Height: 1.80m - 2.20m. PI version - To take into consideration the pets and to install in appropriate place.
