Methodology • Online survey (administered by McKinley) • Member and non-member lists from ENA • Non-member list contained both “never members” and some “lapsed ENA members” • Sent in mid-December • to 2,500 members and 5,000 non-members • Number of (responding) participants: • 447 members (18% response rate) • (max. sampling error +/- 5 points) • 230 non-members (5% response rate) • (max. sampling error +/- 7 points)

Active Members Feel Membership is Valuable To Their Role as a Nurse
What Does it All Mean? • Level of membership value increases with participation BUT • Majority of members do not: • Attend ENA conferences • Attend local/state ENA meetings

Members Not Looking For Leadership • As level of involvement increases, so does the lack of interest, yet future interest is high in basic participation at the local level
