Henri DeToulouse Lautrec Divan Japonais 1890
Henri De Toulouse-Lautrec was born into one of the wealthiest aristocratic families in France. However Lautrec’s legs never finished growing due to chronic illness. This made him a very small man who looked rather peculiar to onlookers in the elite society with which he was associated.
Feeling displaced, Lautrec took to art at an early age and often immersed himself in it so not to feel the sting of being an outsider. Prolific and talented, Lautrec began to be accepted through his amazing talent and became quite popular
