  2. What is a verb? • Verbs are action words (run, dance, sing, jump, talk, think, do!) • The most basic form of a verb is called an infintive In English: to talk In Spanish: hablar • There are three types of Spanish infinitives: -ar, -er, -ir

  3. -AR Verbs • A large number of Spanish verbs are –ar verbs. Here are a few that we know: Estudiar Hablar Esquiar Cantar Practicar Bailar Escuchar Nadar Dibujar

  4. Conjugating Verbs • A verb is conjugated when it is changed to match its subject. A conjugated verb will tell you who is doing an action. In English: Heruns in the park every morning. What is the subject in the sentence? What is the verb in the sentence?

  6. Subject Pronouns • When you are conjugating a verb in Spanish, you need to start by finding or identifying the right subject pronoun.
