GIS Applications for Ground-Water Management in Bucks County

This presentation outlines the current management method for ground-water allocations in SE PA and explores the uses of GIS in water availability concerns in Bucks County. It demonstrates the use of GIS to determine equation coefficients for computing mean annual base flow and showcases an application using revised base flow from diabase areas. Additionally, it highlights the process of locating a new beneficial streamflow monitoring location using GIS.

  25. Conclusions • Ground-water management method for SE PA is a reasonable “zeroth order” budget approach • Baseflow revised estimates from diabase areas was significantly less than is currently used in current GW Management Model • GIS tool greatly facilitated revision of the GW Management Model and model application Bucks County Department of Health
