Did you know….. THERE WERE ONCE NO CLOCKS???
Keeping track of time is easy when you have a clock. • Did you know the electric clock wasn’t even invented until 1840? • For thousands of years before that, people used devices such as an hourglass filled with sand or a burning candle to tell time.
Let’s Do Some Math!! • If it takes one hour for the sand in your hourglass to pass from one side to the next how many minutes have passed? How many seconds? • And how many times will you have to flip the hourglass to equal one day?
Here are some clues… • 60 Seconds = 1 minute • 60 minutes = 1 hour • 24 Hours= 1 day
