  2. Research question What the best way to breed chickens and cows and keep them alive for sustainability

  4. Sub-question What are the best types of cows to breed?

  5. The best type of dairy cow is the Holstein-Friesian cow because of the amount of milk it produces

  6. Sub-question What is the best way to breed cows e.g. are there any ways we can speed up the breeding process or a faster way we can get the cow to produce more milk?

  7. It all depends on the type of cow, and how many cows you have

  8. Sub-question What is the best breed of cow to breed that will produce the best milk?

  9. The best type of cows to have for milk it the Holstein-Friesian cow it produces about 26,000 litres during one life time of production

  11. the best cow for food is the Modern Angus, the modern Angus it a large and well-muscled, they are highly fertile and good mothers, the Angus meat is lean and well- marbled with great flavour.

  15. The best living environment for cows is on a farm, because of the space and the breeding process

  17. Cows have been named as one of the worlds biggest threats along side pigs, sheep and poultry

  18. Pros and cons The pros about breeding cows are… The people are getting the calcium form the milk. Diary product are an inexpensive source of protein. Dairy products often taste good. The cows could not be highly fertile so it could take longer to breed. The cons about breeding cows are…. The milk might be out dated before the families are able to make other diary products. The Diary cows might not produce enough milk. A study suggests the protein in cows milk could trigger the onset of diabetes. People with high family risk factors should avoid cow’s milk products because of the cholesterol. Some people could be lactose intolerant. Some people could be allergic to the protein in the cows milk

  21. The best breed of chickens are the Dorklings, but the are endangered breed of chickens.

  23. The Dorkling chickens have white eggs but they produce medium sized eggs

  24. Sub-question How many chickens will we have e.g. male and female?

  25. We will have 20 chickens, 15 of those chickens will be female and 5 will be male

  27. The Ross chicken is the best type of chicken to breed because its one of the chicken sold in New Zealand supermarkets

  29. The best living environment is a farm, but you can breed chickens in your back yard with the permission from the city council.

  34. Pros and cons The pros about breeding chickens are… The chicken can provide eggs for your breakfast. Chicken is a good source for protein. Breeding chickens is quite cheap. There is less work involved in breeding chickens. The cons about breeding cows are…. The chickens might not produce eggs. The chickens might not taste good. The chickens could die if not looked after properly.

  35. The families The cows and chickens will stay on Stephanie’s farm and at the end of the breeding and milking season. The milk and meat will be shared between the families, as soon as the hens have laid the eggs they will be checked to see if there is a chick inside of it(we will know if there is a chick inside the egg if the egg feels warm, and if the egg is cold there is no chick), if there is no chick inside the eggs will be given to the families and used as eggs. The milk can be used to make other dairy products.
