All Illegal Beach Mining Allegations Against The Company Are Baseless VV Minerals

Viapar is a coastal village in the Tuticorin district of Tamil Nadu. Recently, the village has been troubled by heavy beach erosion. This erosion has been said to have occurred from illegal beach mining across the region. <br><br>VV Minerals has been held responsible for this erosion without any evidence. It is alleged that the 20 year old company has encroached 30 hectares of government land and other mining lease violations.

  4. VVMineral Vaikundarajan, who founded the company in late 1980s, has also been accused of using political influence to transfer the district collector, Ashish Kumar, during his investigation. http://vvmineralmining.wordpress.com

  5. In a rebuttal to this accusation, VV Minerals said to NDTV, “These allegations made by the former district collector are baseless, motivated and vague.” http://vvmineral-mining.blogspot.in

  6. An ex District Collector, V Sundaram wrote a letter to the Chief Secretary of the state in January 2013 accusing VV Minerals of illegal mining worth over Rs. 96,000 crores. The letter further states that the state government departments have favored VV Minerals from time to time. http://vvmineralmining.blogspot.in

  7. “The mining lease was given to them within 72 days, while the other companies are still waiting for permission,” the letter notes. http://vvmineralblog.wordpress.com

  8. In the wake of this situation, VV Mineral Vaikundarajan has stood firm by his company calling the allegations as a ploy by the business rivals. Advocate of VV Minerals, RavindramDuraiswami quoted to NDTV, "Sundaram is passing this as a cruel joke. He is on the payroll of our business rival. Our hands are clear.
