  2. What is IOT? IOT(internet of things) has made dumb devices to smart devices, it communicates over the network by having unique identifiers of each. It is one of the booming industries nowadays and corporate in technology are stated to capitalize it.

  3. History of IOT The concept of IOT was not named until 1999. In 1980 Internet appliance was developed for coke machine. Their program checked the status of machine over the network to show if it’s filled or not. If it’s empty, employees refill it manually.

  5. Current Status of IOT At present in IOT, Google partnered with Nest Learning Thermostat. They turned the dumb devices into smart devices that help to identify user behavior. Nest works with other companies like Philips for smart lights, Logitech for smart remotes, Amazon for home shopping button used to call as Dash. Mc Kinsey claims a report that by 2020, IOT market should have 20 to 30 Million connected devices. The truth is, it is a huge market and the possibilities are really endless. From the statistics report it is very clear that potential of this business is too big.

  6. Role of Technology giants in IOT Future • Brillo is a platform under development by Google on which other devices can offer IOT Services. Intel and Qualcomm are jointly working to offer chip-based platforms to offer connected devices through Internet.  Apple is also developing a home kit; objective of this product is to help device makers to connect their product with iPhones and iPads.  • If you are familiar with Android apps development or Native iPhone apps development, It will be super easy to build apps with Google and Apple IOT frameworks.
