3 Big Players in U.S Market • Research In Motion (RIM) • Canadian wireless device company best known as the developer of the “BlackBerry” Smartphone. • On 18 August 2009, Fortune Magazine named RIM as the fastest growing company in the world with a growth of 84% in profits over three years despite the recession. • Apple • Apple Inc developed mobile operation system called “iPhone OS” which is default operating system of the iPhone, iPod and iPad. • iPhoneSDK (Software Development Kit) • Microsoft • Microsoft developed “Windows Mobile” for use in Smartphones and mobile devices. • Also adopted “Third Party Software Development” which is similar to iPhone SDK.
