  5. Journal 10/21 Choose a prompt from sheet. Start with a topic sentence, and remember to use 5-8 complete sentences. General statement…., supporting details…, reason, evidence, examples… closing…

  6. Prompt response: describe the main character The main character of chapter 7 is Kallik, a polar bear cub. She is brave about being on her own. She is searching for her brother because her mom has died from an infected shark bite. Since Kallik lives in the wild, she returned to the lake location where her mom died, and she is looking for paw prints to reveal which way her brother bear may have traveled. Kallik needs to find a partner because her life skills are not yet complete. Kallik is a persistent and courageous cub.

  8. Definition A prepositional phrase is a sentence part that shows a relationship between the nouns in a sentence. A prepositional phrase starts with a preposition and ends with its object. An object must be a noun or a pronoun.
