Mandatory Reporting • It is a state law that all school personnel report child abuse • Failure to report abuse or neglect is a misdemeanor (less serious than a felony-which is punishable by a fine or imprisonment in a city or county jail rather than a penitentiary)
What is Abuse and Neglect Is any recent act or failure to act • Resulting in imminent risk of serious harm, death, serious physical or emotional harm, sexual abuse, or exploitation of a child by a parent or caretaker who is responsible for the child’s welfare
What is Sexual Abuse • Employment, use, persuasion, inducement, enticement, or coercion of any child to engage in, or assist any other person to engage in, any sexually explicit conduct or any simulation of such conduct for the purpose of producing any visual depiction of such conduct; or………. • Go Back To My Web Page

What is Being Done Before they get to School • One of the most promising prevention strategies for reducing early childhood injuries is comprehensive home health visits • Home visits are conducted in Bon Homme County after the birth of a child by the County Nurse
