Archival Storage 32 new IBM 3592 tape drives have been incorporated into the archive system split between HPSS and SAM-QFS Allows up to 1TB per tape, bringing the capacity to 36PB total GridFTP to HPSS interface was completed and is in production Lustre-WAN PSC Research Collaborations Mounting PSC test filesystem on SDSC SUN-based Lustre test cluster Running application tests at medium scale Introducing kerberized cross-realm identification w/PSC IU Collaboration Requested to mount production filesystem on SDSC IA-64 cluster Data, Visualization
File transfer A direct GridFTP interface was installed on our IBM P5 system that hosts our GPFS-WAN filesystem Tests involved large data transfers to and from Ranger and Kraken Sustained transfer rates of up to 500MB/s were achieved in the tests and a maximum of 1GB/s was achieved This new interface will be made available to users shortly, enabled on request now Data, Visualization (cont.)
Software, Scheduling • Scheduling • SDSC’s GUR meta-scheduling software now communicates with the GARS (Globus Advanced Reservation Services) “uniform” interface • Scheduling Working Group evaluation report for GARS and HARC was completed • A portal interface to GUR released into test
