Symptoms • Initial irregular,translucent spots appear on the surface of leaves • The lower surface of leaves show white powdery growth of fungus • The infected leaves turns brown resulting premature defoliation • White fungus growth appears on grapes and grapes wrinkle and shows reddish brown discolouration • The infected fruits becomes mummified later

  5. Mode of spread and survival • The sporangia of fungus spread through wind,rain etc. • Fungus survivesas spores infected leaves,shoots and grapes • The dominanat mycellium survivies in twigs

  6. Epidemology Disease development is favoured durning; • Heavy Dew • Relative Humidity 80-100% • Temperature 23-27o'C

  7. Management • Spray Bordeaux mixture 1% OR • Metalaxyl+Mancozeb .3 to .4% OR • Difolation .25% OR • chlorothalonil .2%

  9. Symptoms • Powdery Mildew mostly appears on upper surface of leaves • Floral infection results in shedding of flowers and poor fruit set • powdery growth on older grapes and infection results in severe cracking of grapes

  10. Mode of spread and survival • The fungus spreads through air borne conidia

  11. Epidemology • Warm condition with sultry weather is favourable for disease development • Heavy rain has an adverse effect on disease development

  12. Management • Proper pruning should be followed • Spraying wettable Sulfur .2% • OR • carbendazim.1 % • Dinorcap effectively controls disease

  13. Blue Mould RotPencillium Digitatum

  14. Symptoms • Decay the Grapes • Infected tissues becomes soft and watery • Infected Grapes emits a mouldy flavour

  15. Management • Avoiding injuries to the ripe Grapes helps to reduce Rot • Funicide application at shoot extension and later if temperatures are cool • Sulphur is used to reduce the new infections in early spring
