ICSSC 2012 1/4 • Joint conference with Ka and Broadband Communications Conference: http://www.kaconf.org • Theme: Satellites in the Service of Humanity • Venue in Ottawa, Canada • Sept. 24-27, 2012 • Sponsorship: completed • Colloquium • Theme: Meeting the Communications Requirements of a Changing Arctic • Plan well in progress: AM – Requirements; PM - Solutions • Sponsorship: percentage of total joint conference sponsorship • 10% if number of conference attendees is less than 200 • 13% if number of conference attendees is between 200 and 250 • 15% if number of conference attendees is over 250

  4. ICSSC 2012 2/4 • Next email blast from AIAA end of June: Conference Announcement • Preliminary program published in July/August Aerospace America.

  5. ICSSC 2012 3/4 • Abstract submission deadline extended to April 30 but got more up to May 18 • Total received:176 • In addition for ICSSC: • 3 panel sessions • 4 poster papers (students) • Attrition rate: no more than 3% expected • Preliminary Program in the works. Expect to have posted version on June 15.

ICSSC 2013 and future • 2013: joint conference with Ka and Broadband Communications Conference in Italy – no firm commitment at this point in time but no indication otherwise (ICSSC 2012 outcome will determine – but it looks good to date) • 2014: co-located with Space 2014 – current plan • Plan being questioned/reviewed: co-location with Infotech or DASC (Digital Avionics) or Telemetry Conference • 2015: in Asia but no definite plan right now. Need to work on this.

Please confirm attendance to richard.paiement@crc.gc.caas soon as possible so that we can book early the restaurant.
