Me! My life ( so far.)by: me! (Laura Zornosa) “Each year that passes is usually remembered by some particular incident that happened during it.”- Erik Christian Haugaard ( Taro)
- I am born! This is important for obvious reasons.
- I start school! ( My mom enrolled me in an infant Montessori program.) I think that this event is important because it led to my lifelong love of learning.
- My family moves to Oshkosh, Wisconsin! ( From Illinois.) • In my opinion, moving to Wisconsin was important in my life because my dad found a great job here, and he supports the rest of the family, including me. Oshkosh is also a great place to raise a child (or family) because of great school systems, low crime activity and much more.
- I learn to read! • This is definitely important because learning to read early on in my life encouraged me to grow to love reading later on; because I loved ( and love) reading, I read more frequently and became a better reader. This skill will help me greatly later in life.
- I met my best friend. • My best friend, Katharine is like a sister to me, she encourages me and helps me along. She will always be there to support me.
- I moved back to Illinois. • When I moved to Illinois, my whole social world changed, I got to see new places, meet new friends ( some of whom I still keep in contact with), and I got to see my extended family more because we lived closer to them. ( My Mom’s family lives in Chicago.)
- We moved back to Wisconsin and I started “ real” school. ( First grade.) • Like I said before, I think that Wisconsin is a ( slightly) better place to grow up than in the Chicago area because of a lower crime rate and better schools. I was glad to come back.
- I broke my first bone. ( I’m amazed that I didn’t break it earlier!) • I think that I became a bit more cautious after this happened. My mom also started me in violin lessons that year ( because I couldn’t play sports), and I learned to enjoy music.
- I started figure- skating. • Figure skating is one of my favorite pastimes, I usually skate about four days a week. Figure skating has brought me many things. It has improved my patience, self- esteem, perseverance, balance, and flexibility. I have met many friends through it.
- I overcome OCD! ( Yay!) • This is one of the main accomplishments of my life; many people who have OCDnever can overcome it, they have to live their whole life in anxiety and fear.
-I became more involved in music. ( I made it to state piano auditions and I sang my first solo.) • These experiences helped increase my self- confidence and I learned to overcome my nerves and just enjoy myself.
- I participated in my hardest skating competition yet. I think that this event is important in my life because I learned to relax and enjoy myself while not becoming too competitive. I also realized that I can do anything if I set my mind to it.
Thank you for watching ( and hopefully enjoying) my PowerPoint!
