Thursday Last Supper Jesus washes feet
Late Thursday Night-early Friday morning Jesus arrested Peter says he doesn’t know Jesus
Thursday Night:The Last Supper Jesus gives the disciples bread and wine as symbols of his body and blood. Jesus washes his disciples’ feet Jesus predicts that Peter will say: “I don’t know who Jesus is!”
Why did Peter lie? Peter was afraid that he might go to jail like Jesus; that he might get hurt like Jesus; that he might die like Jesus.
One week later, Peter is fishing, and Jesus appears on the shore.
Sometimes, we make mistakes: We don’t do what God expects We say something mean to someone. We do things that hurt other peoples’ feelings. Christians call that SIN
But when we say to God and others: “I’m SORRY!” God says to us:
God loves us so much! God won’t let sin stand in the way of his love for us Jesus comes and dies for us so that we can know God’s forgiveness
When we sin: • God will always love you! When we make mistakes… When we say we are sorry… Then God forgives us… IT IS GOD’S PROMISE TO US
Memory Verse: Psalm 145:8 • The Lord is gracious (forgiving) and compassionate (kind, caring), slow to anger and rich in love.
