Interim gLite release process • EGEE project finished on April 2010 • EMI project started on May 2010 • Until EMI (and EGI) are able to take care of the releases there is a transition period where: • WLCG is the driving force behind the gLite releases until EMI takes over • We will try to keep LCG and EMI related work as much aligned as possible • How long ? • The first EMI release is scheduled for March-April 2011 Middleware Update - M. gLite 3.2/SL5 releases • Released to Production • Update 13. Announced on 07.06.2010 • APEL • New node type to be able to release glite-APEL without the need of using a MON box, which is a node type not supported anymore in gLite 3.2. • It introduces ActiveMQ as the new transport mechanism. • LB 2.0.12 • Bug fixes needed by WMS • CREAM 1.6.1 • Urgent release to include a fix in the util_java package affecting CAs with “emailaddress” in their DN (BUG:67302) • Release notes: • http://glite.web.cern.ch/glite/packages/R3.2/sl5_x86_64/updates.asp#3.2_Update_13 Middleware Update - M. Upcoming gLite 3.2/SL5 releases • Under development • FTS/FTA/FTM 2.2.4 has been certified • WN 3.2.8 in certification • Released to Staged rollout • BDII -> PATCH:4057 • New site BDII node type • Supports Glue 2.0 • Meets Fedora and Debian Packaging guidelines • DPM and LFC 1.7.4 • Several patches: • DPM_disk -> PATCH:4133 • DPM_mysql -> PATCH:3970 • LFC_mysql -> PATCH:4035 • LFC_oracle -> PATCH:4132 • Multiple bug fixes, in particular worth mentioning: • RFIO improvements to better handle analysis jobs (BUG:56166) • Bulk lookup of SURLs (BUG:60796) Middleware Update - M. gLite 3.1/SL4 releases • Released to Production • Update 64. Upcoming gLite 3.1/SL4 releases • Under development • WMS 3.2.14 is now in certification • GFAL/lcg_utils 1.11.15 in certification • Open issue: support for gLite 3.1 • Before the end of EGEE a survey was carried out to understand how many sites were still using gLite 3.1 • http://indico.cern.ch/getFile.py/access?contribId=3&resId=1&materialId=0&confId=93897 • No final decision was taken • From the SL4 roadmap http://www.scientificlinux.org/news/archive/roadmap-sl4 : • SL 4.0-4.8 : Obsolete in October 2010 • SL 4.9 : Minimal support (security only) until February 2012 • We would like to reduce the effort on gLite 3.1 but we need some official list of what needs to be supported Middleware Update - M.
