Key ITS Projects & Initiatives Network improvements & Upgrades Network Futures Study – assessing academic and research reqts New Central firewall and email gateway – security,reliability, SPAM & Virus filtering Improving network speed, capacity and reliability (ie Albany link) EduRoam Wireless network upgrade Internet usage monitoring Lectopia transition to ITS / CATL Audio Visual – lecture capture devices, video linking of Clews & Ross Central Service Desk Email services Student Email – Google Apps ECS - Central Email & Calendaring Service

Key ITS Projects & Initiatives • Business System Upgrades – Alesco, Peoplesoft, Maximo, Cardax (security system), Enforceit (Parking system) • Application Developments – Student Housing, Complaints Handling, Scholarship Database, Risk Management • Delegation Authorisation Review • Standard Operating Environment – SOE – for more effective desktop support and management • Policy & Planning team improving UWA-wide IT consistency and collaboration • Technical Architecture Board • Technical Contacts Group • Standards developed for Desktops, security, server rooms • Benchmarking against other Universities • Service Expansion – ICRAR Support, Public Entities, Currie Hall

  4. Internal ITS Review • 7 year cycle for administrative unit reviews • ITS review in July • Client Surveys to be distributed by IRU shortly • Invitation for submissions / feedback regarding ITS service

  5. New Appointment University Librarian and Director, Information Management Dr Mary Davies (Deputy Chief Information Officer and Director of Research & Learning Support at King’s College, London)
