Design for AM Short Course Wednesday-Friday this Week This year's plenary speaker, Terry Wohlers, associate Ray Huff and FAME Award winner, Olaf Diegel, are offering a (separate-fee) Design for AM short course starting Wednesday afternoon. For more information on the course, please check out the short-course website. There will be a preliminary session on Design for AM Wednesday morning at the conference which will be open to all participants.  Please see the final program for more information.  The morning session and the short course will both be held at the Hilton Hotel.

  8. Conference Addendum The conference addendum lists changes to presentations received in the last 3-4 weeks. Please check the addendum for cancelled, moved and added presentations.

Poster Session – Tuesday Afternoon • Salon J-K • Poster stands will be available Tuesday morning; binder clips for attaching posters to stands will be provided. • Suggested post times: 12:00-1:30 PM • Posters MUST be removed at the end of the session (Tuesday 6:00 PM) or they will be discarded.

  14. Best Papers • The TMS materials journal JOM will devote part of a special issue to 10-15 best papers with a materials theme (4000 word limit). • The quality of the submitted manuscripts will be the primary judging criterion. Selection will be made by the Local Organizing Committee.

  15. Manuscripts for the Proceedings • Non-Reviewed: Upload to the conference website by August 31. • Reviewed Manuscripts: • Upload final versions to the conference website by August 31. • Papers with mandatory revisions: respond in comment box when uploading final manuscript to conference website • Reviewers: If your reviews are not received by August 15, the status of your manuscript will be changed from “reviewed” to “non-reviewed”. • The Conference Proceedings USB will be mailed to all attendees in November. • Proceedings articles will be posted and downloadable for the general public at the conference website - http://sffsymposium.engr.utexas.edu/archive

  16. Communication During the Conference • If an unanticipated event occurs that necessitates communication with the all conference attendees during the meeting, one or more of the following will take place: • Session chairs will receive the announcement, or a runner will interrupt the session between talks • Attendees will receive an e-mail from the organizing committee. • A message will posted on the conference website homepage: http://sffsymposium.engr.utexas.edu/
