Accommodation • We will have the sole use of 2 chalets: Grande Cergnat and Chalet Bruyère.
Accommodation • The Grande Cergnat is on a very quiet side road 400 metres from the village. The Chalet Bruyère is located in a very central place of the town almost opposite the bottom of the ski lift.
Chalet Rules • No shoes indoors • You are not allowed in any other groups bedroom • Tidy room competition (staff always win!) • Civilised behaviour and conversation at meal times • Strict ‘in room’ and ‘lights-out’ times • Treat all the Skimorgins staff with respect
What To Pack? • Sweatshirts/T-shirts/Base layer • Jeans/ski trousers/salopettes • Ski jacket/fleeces/gloves • Underwear/socks/ski socks • General toiletries and a bath towel • Sun screen/glasses/goggles
What To Pack? • You need to bring sensible, comfortable clothing and footwear (walking boots are preferable if you have them) • Don’t bring your best clothes in case they get damaged • A pair of slippers or flip flops for inside the chalets, which have wooden floors
The weather will be cold. However, the snow could be ‘wet’ or ‘dry’. You need to be prepared for both! What To Pack?
Essentials • Reliable watch • For the lessons: complete pencil case, notepad and folder/clipboard (to be packed in the main suitcase) • Dictionary • English to French adaptor (3 pin to 2) • A few photos of family, friends, dog, etc…
Phoning Home • You will be able to phone home. There are pay phones in the village. You can buy phone cards from the shop. • We will organise trips into the village in groups. Do not disappear into the village without a member of staff. • N.B. Letting those at home know you are having a great time is fine… but if you have a little problem (e.g. feel homesick, headache, etc… YOU MUST talk to your group leader first)
Mobile Phones • You may bring a mobile phone with you. • Don’t forget the charger and adaptor. • Check beforehand that your phone will work in Switzerland. Reception can be poor. • Have you got enough credit ? • Whilst abroad, you have to pay for both incoming and outgoing calls and texts. • We cannot be responsible for your phone. If you lose it, nothing can be done!
Money • Swiss Francs: small denominations • Euros and Pounds: for the journeys • One big envelope with two smaller ones inside • Day and pupil’s name on front of each small envelope for Monday and Wednesday • At parents’ discretion for amount (drinks, souvenirs, etc…)
Behavioural Rules / Health and Safety • Remember you are in Switzerland… Culture shock… • Avoid being alone and don’t leave other students on their own. • Listen to instructions carefully. • Always meet at the set time and place.

Remember that you are visitors in another country and that you are representing the school. • Look after your belongings. School will not be responsible if you lose money or mobile phones etc…
Skiing Do’s and Don’ts • Never ski alone. • Learn to stop, do not just sit down or ski into deep snow. • Do not stop and stand in the middle of the piste. • Avoid stopping where the piste is narrow or in a hollow. • Look in all directions before starting off. • Obey signs and instructions.
Skiing Dos and Don’ts • Slow skiers have the right of way. • Always dress for poor weather conditions. • Do not ski through other lessons. • Do not get on or off ski lifts except at marked areas. • Always ski under control and within your ability. • Be on time for your ski lessons. • Always meet your group leaders at the set time & place.
Skiing Dos and Don’ts • ON THE LIFTS • Keep skis in ‘tram lines’ when on ski tows • If you fall, move out of the way, AND WAIT FOR INSTRUCTIONS. • Do not swing from side to side on a chair lift. • On leaving a lift move away quickly to avoid congestion. • If you lose your group go to the last lift you were at if at all possible. If not get to the nearest lift and inform the lift staff that you have lost your group • OFF PISTE • Carry skis correctly. • Look after your ski equipment, it is very expensive. • Do not ski on the road. • Do not wear ski boots around the chalets. • Know your boot and ski number and make sure you have yours

Our Planned Activities For The Week • Friday 1st March - arrive at school at 6.30 pm latest. Be in playground at 6.50 pm for registering with your group leader, loading the coach and an earlier departure if possible! • Overnight ferry crossing to France. Night travel through France. • You will need some pounds and euros for this part of the trip!
The journey • The coach journey is long so you need to be prepared: • Bring a pillow • Bring entertainment/a book • Something to eat (no chewing gum) and drink (not fizzy and no energy drinks) • A sweatshirt or jumper as it gets cold on the coach at night • DVD (of a suitable viewing age)
Coach Rules • Don’t make a mess. Use the bin bags provided • After ‘lights out’ you will need to get some sleep so no talking/eating/games or iPods • No earphones/games when a member of staff is using the PA system • Respect the drivers as you would teachers
Ferry Rules • We will take you to a central meeting point • You must stay in groups of 3 or 4 at all times (including toilets). • Do not miss meeting times • Do not go outside (unless with your group teacher) • Do not buy inappropriate items. • Drink/eat sensibly • Do not disturb other passengers
Saturday 2nd March • Arrive in Morgins at approx 13.00 • Welcome meeting • Rooming allocation and unpacking • Orientation walk and Ski-fit • Dinner and a meeting
Sunday 3rd March- Thursday 7th March • Breakfast and tidy rooms competition • Ski lessons 9.00 to 12.00 (ish) • Lunch (important to properly hydrate) • French lessons 2.00 to 5.00 • Wednesday ski 9.30 to 5.00 • Dinner (can’t afford to be fussy) • R and R and evening activities
Friday 8th March • Breakfast and tidy rooms competition • Ski Lessons and ski hire return • Lunch • French 2.00 to 4.30 • Presentations • Pack and clean • Dinner and depart for the UK • Pupils will need euros for the return journey as we will stop in FRANCE and POUNDS for ferry and UK stop (if necessary)
Saturday 9th March • Arrive at Campion at approx 8.00 am • We hope to phone to confirm when we leave Dover. • Please pick up your son promptly! • School as usual on Monday.
Passports and documents • Please give these to Mrs Hills tonight (No covers please) • Your European Health Card is also required. • Money envelopes to the Finance Office before the end of this week. One envelope for Monday and one envelope for Wednesday.
