The French and Indian War War Between France and Britain Main Idea: Great Britain and France fought for control of eastern North America. Ohio River Valley: *Native Americans *French (trade) Traded furs, guns, etc… English (settlers) wanted to trade, too! French built forts to keep them out
The French and Indian War War Between France and Britain George Washington: led British soldiers into the O.R.V. in 1754 (they lost) started the WAR Ally: a person or group that joins with another to work toward a goal French and Indians = allies English and Indians = some allies (Mohawks)

Rebellion: fight against the government Proclamation: an official public statement Pontiac’s Rebellion: Ottawa Chief Pontiac fought against the British – wanted them to leave Proclamation of 1763: Britain said colonists could not settle west of the Appalachian Mountains (stop the fighting and recognized Indians’ land rights)
