INFORMATION, ADVICE & GUIDANCE (IAG) • Application form support • Interview skills, training and support • Career options, advice and signposting • Redeployment pool • Discussing progression routes throughout
STAFF TRAINING & LEARNER SUPPORT • Staff are on safeguarding pathway training • Staff also encouraged to undertake additional training (e.g. suicide prevention) • Allocated workplace supervisors / mentors • Pastoral support – open door policy • Probation periods (1, 3, 6 months) • Off the job training
ENRICHING THE EXPERIENCE • Apprentice Learner Forum • Learner Steering Group • National Apprenticeship Week • Work shadowing opportunities • Celebration of success
WHAT DOES THIS ALL RESULT IN? • Over 90% success rate across all apprenticeship programs • Retention of staff through ‘grown our own’ ethos – 97% rate in 2017-2018. • Workforce increasing to 23.5% aged 16 – 30 • Almost 70% of apprentices that have trained with us since 1995 are still employed by COLC.
