Miscellaneous (continued) • How to report computing problems • If directly related to advisor data maintenance issues or program/plan maintenance problems (not meaning major changes): Contact Rob • If you already know who to contact for specific functionality support, contact them; e.g., the AIO, Registrar’s Office, IRM (Business Objects) • Other avenues • Navigate to “Computing Problems” link on ITS website • You can follow links from ITS web site (www.nau.edu/its or navigate via NAU index on the NAU home page) • See “Service Order Request” • Submit LOUIE Comments by “quicklinking” to “LOUIE online” from the NAU home page

  8. LOUIE System Advising Stuff • Advising comments now available to many more • 341 advisors with General Advisor role were missing the “SREC” comment category access. From now on, SREC will be included via Security area business process. • Committees can now be added • A security setup detail was preventing committee updaters from being able to add new committees • A note on how we are helping Gateway “replace” a committee • Comment Maintenance Options – to update or not to update or to append • Almost all SF and FA comments are now set to not allow updates

LOUIE System Advising Stuff (continued) • Comment Maintenance Options – to update or not to update or to append (continued) • Per the EMSA team lead, SR comments will not be changed to “not allow updates” in favor of “append”...however: • Advising and Academic Standing comments will be changed to “no updates” • No movement has occurred to change other SR comment types to “append” • SINA Report Stuff • Incorporation of Milestones will have to wait • Column title concern for “Transfer Units”

LOUIE System Advising Stuff (continued) • Nightly Advisor Maintenance Futures • Idea to examine plan ownership as a determinant to retain an advisor across plan changes has been dropped since it is not a one-size-fits-all improvement. • Graduate College processing WILL be included with the 8.9 deployment • Logic Nutshell – if student changes plan: • if a statewide student, advisor will be brought forward • If not a statewide student, ADUN will be assigned.

LOUIE System Advising Stuff (continued) • Advisor Maintenance problem reported by Debi Gonzales • Debi reported the following problem via Ask-ITS@nau.edu: • I enter the Academic Career=UGRD But when I try to enter the Academic Program and tab to the next cell, the Academic Career information disappears. I continue to enter academic Program and Academic Plan and Advisor. I tab back to Academic Career and enter the data the press save. The data disappears and I get the error message, "ENTER DATA INTO THE HIGHLIGHTED FIELDS". • The problem was caused by having a student active in a program that was no longer active. This happened as a result of a transcript re-create that was not “cycled” within the same day.
