Small Group Discussion on the 5 Big Ideas in Reading • Article: Findings of the National Reading Panel For our grade level discussions: • 20 minutes • Elect a note-taker, record thoughts on chart paper • Share new insights (!) questions (?) and squares () • Elect a spokesperson to share out common themes during whole-group share-out

For our grade level / program specific discussions: • Elect a note-taker (needs to be able to access SharePoint on computer) • Elect a time-keeper • 5 minutes of silent thinking/writing time • 30 minutes of sharing time
