This is a green at Towns County Country Club. The manager at the course has asked Billy to renovate it.
The manager has asked for the green to be in the shape of a 20-gon with each side 10 smoots long.
Billy had to find the area of the green to know how much grass he needed.
Billy knows that there is 20 triangles in a 20-gon and he knows that the interior of the green is 360 degrees. So if he divides 360 by 20 he will get the top angle measure for each triangle. 18 degrees
He used Tangent to figure out the height of each triangle. The height was 31.7. So we did ½(b)(h)=Area. The Area of the Triangle is 158.5. Area = 158.5
Next Billy Multiplied the area of the triangle by 20. 20 x 158.5 = 3170
