Magnetic Force • The force of attraction or repulsion between magnets.
All magnets have two poles:North and South The Law of Magnetic Poles states that like poles repel and unlike poles attract
Magnetic Field • A region around a magnet in which magnetic forces can be felt. • The closer the lines of force, the stronger the magnet
Domains • Groups of atoms in tiny areas within the magnet that are aligned (lined up).

Kinds of Magnets • Temporary Magnets – easy to magnetize and easy to lose its magnetism • Permanent Magnets – difficult to magnetize, but stay magnetized
Two Types of Magnets • Natural Magnets – found in nature (Magnetite) • Artificial Magnets – made by man Temporary- can be turned on or off (electromagnets) 2. Permanent – cannot be turned on and off
