What if…? A magical classroom adventure
Imagine this… • On Sunday night you met someone who gave you a special bag. • The bag was filled with magical items! • What would you do if you were told you could take five of the items to school with you – one on each day of the week? • Think of how you could change things in the classroom with your choices! • Choose carefully and explain your choices
In your bag you have… • A wand that makes objects disappear for 10 seconds when it is pointed at them. • A key you can rub to help you answer up to 5 questions • A black cat that is good at maths (for 5 minutes per hour) • A hat that helps you remember things for 24 hours • A potion that you can sprinkle on people to make them happy for an hour • A mini skeleton that makes everyone more energetic for 45 minutes • A mini treasure chest freezes time for 30 minutes when you open it • A magic book that makes everyone best friends when it is open (stops working when you close it)
Helps you remember Gives everyone energy Makes things disappear Makes everyone friendly Makes people happy Helps with questions Freezes time temporarily Good at maths
Your activity • Using an application of your choice (PowerPoint, Publisher, Word, Ript etc.) and plan out which 5 items you would take and on which day – one slide or page for each day and item • Brainstorm ideas on how each item could be useful • Explain how you would use each item during your school day – think carefully! • Which situations could be improved by your magic bag items? • Think of other magical items that might be useful at school – something that makes you grow taller or run faster perhaps? Explain how you would use such items!
Suggestions • The magic book might be good for breaking up fights or arguments. • The cat could help you pass a test or help with mental maths • The potion could cheer up someone sad • The skeleton might make PE even more fun and exciting! • The treasure chest could help you make something right. • The hat could help with messages or passwords • The key might be useful when you need to find things out. • The wand could be used to get rid of things you don’t like (but only temporarily). • These items could be used for good in school or not: which would you choose and why?
