Things to consider if your check bag gets lost
E N D
You must have heard all those jokes about British Airways, but the reality is that there is no airline which has a perfect record of never misplacing or losing a single checked in bag. It could happen with the best airlines, and it could happen to the best of us. Before I tell you about what to do when your checked bag is lost, let me tell you how you can reduce the inconvenience to yourself if such a thing happens.
Even if you haven’t done it before leaving for home, you can spend ten minutes at Sky harbor parkingto do it, before you go inside the terminal building. Take out at least a set of clothes, a set of clean underwear and handkerchief, and maybe your toothbrush, and keep it in your carry-on bag. That way, even if your luggage is delayed, you have something fresh to wear while you go buy yourself some new clothes.
As soon as you realise your baggage hasn’t arrived yet, go and make a complaint at the ‘Lost and Found’ counter that every airport has. They will give you a receipt for your complaint, which you should preserve as carefully as you would a SFO parking coupon, at least till your bag is recovered.
