  2. Cramming vs ongoing studying Frequent review Daily: edit notes Weekly: one hour per course Summary notes Major Review 1-3 weeks before Teach PREP!!!!

  3. Flashcards T F F Teach Study partner Check: course objectives Old/previous exams Predict questions Trade/test study buddy C Headings and subheadings into questions Time limits PREP!!!!

  4. Find out about the exam Open book? One question at at time? Return to unanswered items PREP!!!!

  5. Attend to concepts stressed in class/lab....if concept/case is stressed more than once, it is more likely to be on the exam. Prepare for exam by Study in _____ blocks with ____ minute breaks. PREP!!!!

  6. Scan Items Check directions! Answer easy items first S R H During the Exam

  7. Decipher Each M/C Item • Read the stem (beginning of item) first • Translate the stem in your own words • Hunt for words like ‘not’ ‘always’ ‘except’ • Look for technical flaws: • same terms in the stem and option(s) • Longer answer option
