Authority: Texas education code § 11.1541 • The Board may authorize the donation of real property and improvements formerly used as a school campus if it determines that: • The Property and improvements have historical significance; • The transfer will further the preservation of the improvements; • At the time of the transfer, the District does not need the Property or improvements for educational purposes; and • The Organization has shown, to the satisfaction of the Board, that the entity intends to continue to use the real property and improvements for public purposes

  3. Authority: Texas education code § 11.1541 • The property reverts to the District if the organization: • discontinues using the Property and improvements for public purposes, or • executes a document that purports to convey the Property

  4. DISTRICT USE OF THE OLD SCHOOLHOUSE • No current use • No current need for the property for educational purposes • Leased to founders of Drop Family & Friends • Expense to upkeep the property

  5. DROP FAMILY & FRIENDS • Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization • Officers • Janice May, President • Sallye Box, Treasurer • Sue Williams, Secretary • Don Gay, Director • Tom Hobbs, Director • Committed to preserving the Schoolhouse • Founders lease the Schoolhouse & property
