  5. BUY locally • Reduces the gas emissions needed to transport food from one are to another

  6. CHOOSE GREENER MATERIALS • Reduces the amount of waste in landfills • Protects the forest, water, and habitat

  7. USE LESS POWER • Turn off not used lights • Use energy efficient light bulbs • Turn down your air-conditioning unit • Invest in solar panels

  8. BETTER TRANSPORTATION • Carpool + Hybrid cars - less footprint - save $$$ • ability to use car pool lane during traffic = get to destination faster = more time to do what you want • Bike • Walk

  9. RECYCLE! • nothing is ever thrown “away” it ALL goes somewhere • What’s recyclable: • Plastics • Glass • Paper • Batteries • Used oil • Household hazardous waste • tires

  10. Reusable water bottles instead of plastic water bottles!
