Import and export, a problem? Made by Benoit Achile Iza Gauthier Zsofi Mateusz Weronika Sandra
The pollution of import and export • Ecological footprint (consumption) • Belgium 8Ha/Person (15,5Ha) • Poland 4,35Ha/Person (8,4Ha) • Hungary 2,99Ha/Person (5,8Ha) • Pollution per person (production) • Belgium 9,9 Ton • Poland 8,3 Ton • Hungary 5,5 Ton
Conclusion • Belgium consumes products that were made in other countries so we pollute the land of origin. • Poland and Hungary have enough production to have as much food export as import. .
Developing countries have an average footprint of 0,16 so also Poland and Hungary are not`green`!
Possible solutions • We could stop the trade, BUT will there be enough diversity and enough production? Not for Belgium because…
For Poland and Hungary the production shouldn’t be a problem but the diversity is.
Poland • Grains • Mushrooms • Cabbage • Apples … No diversity in fruits…
Belgium • Strawberries • Root vegetables • Beets • Potatoes • Flakes • Corn Not enough and no diversity…
Hungary • Peach • Red pepper • Plum • Grapes • Apples Same as Poland, there isn`t enough diversity
We could enlarge the amount of fruits per tree by GMO so we can reduce the import and export of food, and make the production of several fruits possible
BUT There has to be a system which checks GMO products!
We could also use more pesticides but that would not be a solution because of pollution. • As it will be very hard to stop trade, we have to make transportation „greener”.
Conclusion 2 • Import and Export are necessary! • There are several problems which should be solved: The transportation of goods should be cleaner, but the product has to be kept fresh!
