If your site has witnessed changes in its rankings post August 2018, don’t send your digital marketers on a ‘paid vacation’ as of yet (pun intended), for the blame can be laid at the door of Google. Yes, the world’ most popular search engine (86.28% as of April, 2018, Source: Statistica) has rolled out one of its significant algorithm updates on August 1, 2018. This followed a spate of similar updates in the previous months, which too resulted in the change of rankings across the spectrum especially in the health and wellness vertical. The update aka broad core ranking update was confirmed by Danny Sullivan of Google. The update has come as a blessing or curse depending on which side of the spectrum you are. The algorithm in no way states that one should shy away from following the established SEO practices. In fact, it encourages one to follow these practices to garner better rankings.
