If you want a short cut – follow this Summaryotherwise continue to the next slide to listen to the tutorial. • Plug microphone into mic-jack • Go to START button then select CONTROL PANEL from the toolbox • Select SOUND from the control panel toolbox • Select RECORDING from the menu on the top of the toolbox • Select MICROPHONEthen the CONTINUE button on the bottom • Select SET UP MICROPHONE option • Select the style of microphone you will use • Select the NEXT button on the bottom • Select the NEXT button again • Read the sentence on the screen into the microphone • When highlighted, select the NEXT button on the bottom • Close the toolbox by selecting the X in the upper right corner • Proceed to the PowerPoint Narration tutorial

  3. Getting Ready • Plug microphone into mic-jack • If this is the first time you have used a microphone on your system, follow these simple steps to configure your system with your microphone.

  11. Configuring Your Microphone Read the sentence: “Peter dictates to his computer. He prefers it to typing, and particularly prefers it to pen and paper”

  12. Configuring Your Microphone After you read the sentence, the system will highlight the NEXT box. Click the NEXT box.
