2. -a brief history • deLighting is a designers and manufacturing company of high quality light fixtures and lighting installations, providing light design services. Founded in the 1997 in Bali, Indonesia,by two partners Sue Kilmister and Carlo A. Forzinetti. The origins are dating back 12 years in Europe between the UK, Italy and France. The founders , one British and one Italianopened their first company producing original lighting fixtures with Italian artisans and marketing their collections from the Paris Salon and Milano.

The couple left the UK and relocated to Florence, Italy, in 1991 in order to be close to their artisans suppliers. • New lines of products in addition to their lighting collection were designed and produced with furniture, objets d’art, terracotta and racu vases which were presented for several years at the SALONE DEL MOBILE of Milan, Italy and in other personal exhibitions in the UK, Italy ,Germany and Belgium. The company was involved in several interior projects for shops of Moschino, Armani, Missoni and international hospitality projects in Mexico, the USA, Indonesia, Belgium and the UK selling especially throughout Europe.

In ’97 we decided for a permanent relocation to Bali to take advantage of the lush artisan tradition and to enrich our European experience with the flavour of this rich culture. • deLightingwas incorporated with the aim to provide creative lighting design consultancy for the hospitality and residential and to produce high quality lighting .

Please take a look at our client list . • Below we enclose the jobs of 2011, while the • list from 1997 is provided with the brochure . • One of our first international clients was Disney for which we designed and manufactured several thousands lights for the Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge in Orlando, FL, making us the first UL listed company in Indonesia . • From there our collaborations have spanned to many big names in hospitality like the Four Seasons, the Intercontinental, the GHM group , the Club Med, Soneva and Six Senses to name few.

9. So, what can deLighting do for you? Light is our first consideration . We understand how its use affects materials, how to interact with darkness as with the many shades of light. We understand how light relates to space, perspective and volume. We offer a creative view of lighting with profound insight and emotion with great attention to both the interior and exterior light effect with an original view of the opera of light Every project is viewed with a fresh approach and as a new romance We create the lighting project, we design the fixtures . We manufacture the fixtures in our premises in Bali. We follow up the project from beginning to end and even afterwards.

34. deLighting manages a work force between 70 to 100 in our new 3200 sqm factory in Bali where we have also our offices and project facilities. • The work is divided between 5 fully equipped laboratories for metal fabrication, resin casting and moulding with proprietor original techniques , shades processing, carpentry and hand finishing . • To this organisation we add a well ramified organization of trusted external suppliers.

37. The most challenging chapter of lighting design is how to balance the light in the outdoor areas where reflection surface is lost in space and where contrast can be damaging to function. It is where our job comes the closest to painting and where the possibility of custom construction of the fixtures comes to real help.
