Former(以前的) U.S. President Jimmy Carter won the 2002 Nobel Peace Prize in October because he put his heart into world peace, humanity, and justice(正义). Carter decided to give this prize to “ suffering people around the world.” Gunnar Berge, head of the Nobel committee(委员会), knows that lauding Carter's peaceful work was a criticism(批评) of the president, George W. Bush, and his warmongering(好战) ways.
